HCMUD 148’s Accomplishments During the Year 2019
- Sanitary Lift Station No. 1 – Constructed a brand new sanitary lift station to serve the community of Kingslake Forest Subdivision. The District is also underway another sanitary lift station that will serve the community of Greensbrook Section 1.
- Fire Hydrants Replacement – Replaced all fire hydrants in the communities of Kingslake Forest Section 1 and Greensbrook Section 1.
- Waterline Extension and Sanitary Forcemain To Serve Sheldon ISD’s New Campus – Partnered with Sheldon ISD to construct approximately 9,000 Feet of waterline and 13,000 Feet of sanitary forcemain.
- Jogging Trail – Constructed approximately 1,700 Feet of jogging trail located around the District’s detention pond just south of the Administration Building.
- Playground and Pavilion – Constructed a playground and pavilion that connects to the jogging trail.
- Splash Pad – Constructed a Splash Pad located behind the District’s Administration Building adjacent to the playground.
- Multi-use Youth Center – Constructed a basketball court with pavilion and a pedestrian bridge and trail that connects two communities within the District. The basketball court is located within Greensbrook Section 1.
- Smart Meter Pilot Program – Implemented a pilot program that includes 20 smart water meters.
- Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion – This project is still under construction. It is expected to be substantially complete in January of 2020. The expansion will provide an additional 100,000 gallons per day of sewage treatment capacity which will enable the District to serve additional customers. The District is also underway another expansion phase to increase its capacity by 300,000 gallons per day of sewage treatment capacity. The Texas Water Development Board has approved funds for this expansion that will be in the form of low interest rate bonds (rate to be well below market rates). Additionally, Harris County Community Development Grant program has conditionally awarded $1,000,000 for this expansion. Funds will be confirmed in January of 2020.
- City of Houston Water Supply Contract – Contracted with the City of Houston to increase water supply to HCMUD 148 from 7 million gallons per month to 16.23 million gallons per month.
- Security Coverage – Increased coverage by adding one more deputy to patrol the communities of HCMUD 148.

- Back to School – Donated back packs and other school supplies to the children of HCMUD 148
- Various Christmas Events
- Senior Citizen Program
- Summer Nutrition Program – provided lunch to the youth within the communities of HCMUD 148
